Bullfrog Gold Corporation (TSXV: FROG, OTCQB:BFROF) last week provided results from surface exploration work at South Bullfrog including geological mapping, rock sampling and prospecting as part of ongoing preparation for diamond drilling scheduled for Q4 2026. Results from field work enhance drill targeting on the fully permitted Longtail and Shingleback exploration targets and support ongoing permitting and drill advancement efforts at the Bottoms Up, Tadpole (newly identified, see below), Sledge, and SE Block targets.
Bullfrog Gold holds a 100% interest in the 10,050-acre South Bullfrog gold project located in the heart of the Beatty District in the Walker Lane Trend in Nevada, surrounded by AngloGold’s Bullfrog, North Bullfrog, and Arthur development projects (Figure 1).

FROG highlights:
“Historical and newly acquired surface exploration data demonstrate the exploration potential of South Bullfrog which is centrally located in the heart of the Beatty Gold District,” Bullfrog’s Chairman and CEO said in the Oct. 15 news release. “Our recent field activities have increased our confidence in all of the high-priority targets including the identification of the new Tadpole target, increasing the size of Bottoms Up and the confirmation of intense steam heated alteration and new geochemistry throughout the SE Block.”

Significant advancements from the results of the summer program include the identification of the Tadpole target (pathfinder geochemistry, surface alteration), anomalous pathfinder geochemistry in the northeastern part of the SE Block (emerging target), the expansion the Bottoms up target (surface geochemistry and alteration) and the identification of additional distal fluid flow indicators (gold/arsenic/antimony) at Longtail, Shingleback, Sledge and the emerging SE Block where there is the most intense steam heated alteration at surface at South Bullfrog.
Recent exploration activities at South Bullfrog leverage the limited bedrock exposure to vector toward gold mineralization using proven exploration tools and methods. Exploration focused on lithological, structural and alteration mapping to further constrain the subsurface geology (3D geometry) and refine the locations of drill hole locations. Rock geochemical sampling was conducted to identify fluid pathways in the distal environment (gold and pathfinder elements including mercury, arsenic and antimony) which can be used to vector toward gold mineralization (Figure 3).

Bullfrog District
Gold was first discovered in the Bullfrog District in 1904, leading to the rise of mining towns like Rhyolite and Beatty.
Large-scale exploration returned in the 1980s and 1990s, and the area has recently evolved into one of the largest greenfield gold discoveries of the century in the United States.
AngloGold Ashanti is the dominant operator in the region, managing consolidated greenfield projects including:
As of late 2025, the district holds a Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource of 6.11 million ounces of gold and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 9.58 million ounces of gold, with broader regional estimates cited upward of 21 million ounces.
AngloGold Ashanti didn’t acquire Bullfrog Gold because the junior explorer beat them to the punch by staking the ground first, leaving a literal “hole in the middle” of AngloGold’s district-scale consolidation.
While AngloGold spent billions between 2021 and 2025 aggressively snapping up established district players like Corvus Gold, Coeur Sterling and Augusta Gold, Bullfrog Gold quietly secured its massive 10,050-acre land package before those buyouts were even finalized.
Several key strategic factors explain why Bullfrog Gold remains independent:
Hidden geology staked early
The ground currently held by Bullfrog Gold (the South Bullfrog Project) was historically overlooked because much of its low-sulfidation epithermal gold geology is concealed beneath a shallow layer of gravel. Bullfrog Gold’s management realized this unstaked “hole in the middle” existed and locked down 488 BLM claims in 2021. By the time AngloGold completed its massive regional sweep, Bullfrog Gold already owned a 100% interest in the heart of the district.
Another Silicon?
One of Bullfrog’s more intriguing exploration theories involves similarities between Longtail and AngloGold’s Silicon gold deposit.
The company’s presentation identifies comparable geological characteristics, including caldera-related alteration, regional fault structures, and extensive steam-heated alteration.
Slater said Longtail and Southeast Block were being evaluated for similarities to Silicon and Merlin, while the western targets offered potential for higher-grade vein-style mineralization.
“So, this one I’m really excited about,” he said of Longtail. “If we hit on this one … it could be another Silicon, right? It’ll be very, very, very, very interesting.”
The comparison remains an exploration hypothesis. Bullfrog has not established a mineral resource at South Bullfrog, and drilling will determine whether the identified anomalies contain significant gold mineralization.
The company’s western targets offer a different opportunity. Shingleback contains numerous historical workings and a substantial geophysical anomaly near the intersection of two faults.
Slater said the western targets could offer a greater likelihood of intersecting mineralization, although potentially on a smaller scale than the larger eastern targets. (Streetwise Reports)
The ‘option value’ of an undrilled asset
Major miners like AngloGold Ashanti prefer to acquire de-risked assets with defined mineral reserves. Because South Bullfrog was undrilled, it represents pure exploration upside rather than a proven deposit. For investors, Bullfrog Gold serves as a strategic “exploration option”. If their upcoming fully funded 3,000-meter drilling program hits a major discovery, the property will become a highly lucrative, logical bolt-on asset for AngloGold’s future processing infrastructure. Or a potential stand alone project for another mid-tier or major mining company.
Premium pricing and leverage
Because Bullfrog Gold sits cleanly in between AngloGold’s core North Bullfrog, Arthur and Bullfrog development projects, they hold incredible geographic leverage. Buying them out pre-discovery would require AngloGold to pay a premium for speculative ground. For now, AngloGold is prioritizing billions in capital deployment toward building out its flagship Arthur Gold Project (Silicon/ Merling deposits) while letting a junior company spend its own capital to prove up the ground next door.
AngloGold Ashanti is laying the groundwork for a massive, multi-billion-dollar modern mining hub designed to transform the Beatty Gold District into one of the largest active gold complexes in the United States. Rather than treating their acquired properties as isolated operations, AngloGold’s infrastructure layout is being built around a unified district-sequencing strategy. This framework splits construction into two distinct, high-capacity industrial hubs: North Bullfrog and the Arthur Gold Project.

The hub and spoke model — Richard Mills
The hub-and-spoke mining model is an operational strategy where multiple satellite ore deposits (the “spokes”) feed a single, centralized processing facility (the “hub”). By consolidating smaller, multi-centered deposits into one operational loop, mining companies drastically reduce the massive capital expenditures (capex) required to build independent mills for every individual find.
Conclusion
CEO Ian Slater stated that the property has now been systematically compiled with the foundational data necessary to position the company for a major discovery.
At AOTH we believe Bullfrog Gold has positioned itself as an extremely interesting drill play, and a potential consolidation play.
Bullfrog Gold’s maiden drill program focuses on the high-priority Longtail and Shingleback epithermal gold targets and includes approximately 3,000 meters of planned exploration diamond drilling across seven fully permitted drill pads (four pads at Shingleback, three pads at Longtail). Drilling is expected to commence imminently in Q4.
The company recently closed a non-brokered private placement for aggregate gross proceeds of approximately CAD$7.4 million, issuing 37,037,500 units with each unit consisting of one Bullfrog common share and one half of one common share purchase warrant, at a price of CAD$0.20 per unit. Bullfrog Gold has about $8 million in the bank as it goes about drilling Longtail and Shingleback.
Bullfrog is offering near-term discovery in the Beattie Gold District of Nevada’s Walker Lane Trend, surrounded by a major who bought out three companies. Could Bullfrog be AngloGold Ashanti’s next acquisition target? Thus, eliminating the donut hole in the middle of AngloGold’s claims?
Here’s Ian Slater providing some color on the Longtail and Shingleback targets:
“The Longtail is the one that looks the most like Arthur. It has a magnetic low and resistivity high right between two faults. So, you’ve got a perfect setup for geophysics, which is analogous to Silicon. And then on the geo-chem, in this whole district you use pathfinder minerals, because there’s no gold at surface. The best pathfinder minerals in the district are antimony, arsenic and mercury. Wherever you have outcrop at Longtail, you’ve got great rock samples. In addition, a soil grid was done over Longtail showing anomalous pathfinder minerals analogous to AngloGold’s Arthur. All unfolding right outside of the caldera, which is exactly the same as the other deposits.
Shingleback is more like the Bullfrog and North Bullfrog deposits. That same fault runs north from the original Bullfrog mine that Barrick operated. It goes up along the western side of our project; there are lots of historical adits and shafts. There’s no cover on that side. You can clearly see it, all the historical workings.
That particular target is where two faults come together, and where there was artisanal mining, even when we staked the ground. It’s a lower-risk drill target, since there was artisanal gold mining there. Structure’s the most important thing in this district.”
