The PanStar Acro container ship departed Busan for Europe via the Northern Sea Route on August 22, marking the first time that a South Korean ship attempted the 40-to-45-day voyage. Southern routes typically take around 63 days.
Sea Legend, a Chinese shipping company, also launched regular scheduled service between China and Europe via the Arctic Route, according to China Daily.
