Ottawa may be cheesing a little less hard later this year.
A long-gestating standards of identity rule is due to be finalized soon by the Food and Drug Administration. It will clear the way for U.S. cheese producers to use ultra-filtered and micro-filtered milk without separately disclosing them as ingredients.
