A major new uranium mine has broken ground in northern Saskatchewan.
NexGen Energy Ltd, a uranium exploration and development company headquartered in Vancouver, has begun construction on its $2.2 billion Rook I Project – a new underground mine and mill development in the southwestern area of the Athabasca Basin.
The Rook I Project is the largest development-stage uranium project in Canada.
