The Far Side, created by Gary Larson, was a single-panel comic strip famous for its surreal, idiosyncratic humor. Large portions of this humor revolved around putting animals in distinctly human predicaments, with the animals involved ranging from feral to near-human in behavior. However, plenty of the humor came from entirely human affairs, too. The jokes in each strip were often confounding, cryptic and sometimes quite dark, observing the world and various societal topics through an absurd lens.
