February 2, 2022 – Battery metals like lithium, nickel and others have seen a huge uptick in demand with the ongoing push across the globe to decarbonize and electrify our energy and transportation sectors. However, unlike fossil fuels, there are only so many deposits of these vital metals currently being mined and processed, meaning supplies remain relatively inelastic, even while demand continues to soar. Joining us on the show today is resource mining expert Rick Mills at Ahead of the Herd who explains the brewing global supply crunch for “green energy” metals, most of which are processed and manufactured in China. Rick argues that in the rush to renewables, while simultaneously shutting down domestic mining and processing of these critical metals, the US and other Western countries have traded one energy master, OPEC, with another: China. This is one interview you wont want to miss!
