I’m not an entomologist and I don’t play one on television. I do know a few and my experience with them as an ag journalist has been helpful, now in more ways than one.
I spent the better part of a warm, November afternoon where I live in southwest Arizona brushing up on my knowledge of Africanized honeybees after discovering a swarm of bees on my back porch. My limited knowledge of them raised some quick alarms. I can’t declare that these bees coming and going into my attic were Africanized, but the one I swatted inside my house did not appear happy.
