Canada has reached a deal to join the European Union’s €150 billion ($243 billion) military procurement fund, the country’s defence minister said, though the access fee has yet to be announced.
David McGuinty said Monday the nation has successfully negotiated entry to the Security Action for Europe program, or SAFE, unlocking billions of dollars in defence opportunities for Canadian businesses.
