Hitting the gym can feel quite bothersome – even if we know that fitness is important to keeping healthy. Yet, one expert suggests this perhaps isn’t always necessary, as a gentle pastime could be surprisingly effective for keeping in shape.
Dan Buettner, 64, is a researcher of the globe’s rare ‘Blue Zones’, where locals are reportedly 10 times more likely to reach 100 years old than ‘ordinary’ citizens of the United States. Taking to TikTok (@danbuettner), he contended that centenarians are more inclined to garden, attributing it to reduced stress and heightened physical activity.
